Marquee looking great thanks to Keegan Callahan’s art direction.
Last night at the Vista Theater in Los Angeles we premiered our 29th full-length video Riddles in Mathematics and presented our annual TWS Legend Award to the one and only Ray Barbee. The night started with Lance Mountain saying a few words about his life-long friend Ray and then an epic video piece by Joe Pease played. Afterwards Ray got on the mic for a touching speech—he really is the real deal and the nicest, happiest guy ever! After that, we got Chris Thiessen and the Riddles cast up front for a photo op and to present Yaje Popson with his new pro boards from Alien Workshop. Then the big surprise—he got the cover of our new issue!
Filmer and subject, Chris Thiessen and Leo Valls.
Then it was premiere time. We played a moving Dylan Rieder tribute, with hand-drawn frames by Joe Pease, then Riddles began. Afterwards, most people left with copies of the new mag and double DVDs of Riddles and The Cinematographer Project World View. Thanks to all who came out! Riddles In Mathematics should be in your local shop today, and will be available on iTunes in March. Our new print issue is out March 10!
