adidas Skateboarding announces the latest iteration of the 3ST family of footwear with the all-new 3ST.004. Holding true to its open-source workshop process, the 3ST.004 was co-created by footwear designers and adidas team riders. Aligning with the 3ST's open-ended approach, collaborators worked closely to ensure the new design would progress the standard of skateboarding footwear while meeting the needs of today's skaters, both visually and technically.
"Building off the design mentality of the 3ST family, the 3ST.004 is positioned to further progress and challenge skateboarding footwear. The low-profile forefoot and super tacky wrapping on the sidewall provide board feel like no other. With such great board feel, the intent is to never bail, but let's face it, it happens. Therefore, we've placed BOOST in the heel of the shoe for protection and support when bailing." says the brand's Senior Footwear Designer, Scott Johnston. "Considering that Tyshawn Jones was the muse for the project, the shoe needs to not only perform, but look iconic and stand out. The shoe incorporates classic adidas aesthetics and modern design lines to keep you looking fly in the streets."
For the latest addition to the 3ST franchise, adidas Skateboarding tapped team rider Tyshawn Jones to weartest the new silhouette and provide critical feedback to ensure the shoe's premium performance. Blending heritage and performance, the translucent outsole was inspired by foxing from the archival Kegler Super OG of 1983. The latest silhouette also receives adidas BOOST technology delivering on unparalleled comfort, responsiveness and all day energy return. Paneled overlays and updated midsole elevate the dynamic design, while an S-curve heel lock, molded rubber heel clip and articulated tongue offers stability, snug fit and durability. A low profile sole on the forefoot provides optimized board feel and control.
The all-new 3ST.004 will be available at specialty adidas retailers worldwide and on the adidas Skateboarding website starting February 7th and will retail for $120 USD. The first colorways to release will be Orange/Black/White, White/Black/Gum, and Royal/White/Silver.
