60 Second Docs, the series from Indigenous Media that re-envisions the future of documentary storytelling just did one of its shorts on Skateistan.

If you didn’t already know, Skateistan is a nonprofit organization that uses skateboarding and education to help empower kids in Afghanistan, Cambodia and South Africa. The program offers girls-only sessions in Skate School — a way to encourage girls to pick up the sport, build self-esteem and friendships, and ride on. In Afghanistan, where as many as 40-percent of skateboarders are women and girls, the program thrives.
