Street League Kansas City Practice Session

The 2012 Street League series is officially underway. 24 of the world’s top skaters converged on Kansas City today to begin practice for the series’ explosive season opener. The Sprint Center arena has been transformed into a one-of-a-kind concrete street plaza-style park where the elite field of pro skaters will battle throughout the weekend for to see who will win the first stop.

“We’ve worked out some kinks to improve the format for the skaters and the viewers,” Rob Dyrdek explains, “and we’ve reworked the skate plaza designs for better flow. Flow is the essence of skateboarding. It’s everything.”

Qualifiers for the main event are held on Friday May 18, and the big show, Saturday’s final goes live on ESPN2 at 9PM EST.
